Born in 1964, in Dej, Romania, married, one child

Surgical accomplishments: more than 2800 surgeries at the end of 2010

Graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute of Cluj-Napoca in 1988, with an average of 9.60

1988-1990 intern at the County Hospital in Timisoara.

1990-1994 resident ophthalmologist at the Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital in Bucharest, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mircea Olteanu, and at the “Ana Aslan” Geriatrics Institute , under the co-ordination of Dr. Cristian Moraru

1994 Member of IACLE (International Association of Contact Lens Educators) – Barcelona

1994-1996  General Ophthalmologist at the County Hospital in Brasov and at the Optometry Centres of  Optinova Company

1996 – now – associate and manager of the Oftapro Ophthalmology Clinic – Bucharest, where she founded the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus of this clinic, and where she is currently employed. From January 2010, the only associate in Oftapro Company

1998 – Senior Doctor in Ophthalmology 

1998 – Accredited as senior member of IACLE (International Association of Contact Lens Educators)

2000 – Launches, together with Dr. Teodorescu, the first telemedicine program for ophthalmology in Romania, a program which was initiated by the Emeritus Professor Dr. Eugene M. Helveston, who since then, became and  remained her professional mentor

2001 – Launches the telemedicine program in Albania

2002 – Founder member of the Romanian Society of Strabismology and Pediatric Ophthalmology (SRSOP)

2003 – Gets accredited as member of the European Strabismological Association (ESA), Bergen, Norway

2003 – Member of the Romanian Contact Lens Society (SRLC)) and of the European Society of Contact Lens of Ophthalmologists (ESCLO)

2004 – February – Organizes with her team, the first Romanian Telemedicine symposium  – “Cyber sight, an opportunity for partnership in telemedicine”, held by Prof. Eugene Helveston, USA, followed by the second interactive course on strabismus-related topics of Prof. Helveston in Romania (www.cybersight.org )

2004 – June – Organizes, together with Dr. L. Teodorescu, a course and a surgical demo on topics related to eye plastic surgery, held by Dr. Steven Dresner, USA

2004 – September – Organizes, together with Dr. L. Teodorescu, the presentation on the topic of “Retinoblastoma – Modern Treatment”, held by Prof. Dr. Francois Munier, Jules Gonin Clinic, Switzerland

2006 – February – becomes a member of ISA- International Strabismological Association

2006 – June – attends as participant and organizer to the Reunion of the Romanian Society of Strabismology and Pediatric Ophthalmology (SRSOP)
